James and Bettina met in Tunisia, North Africa and quickly became the best of friends. Through several interesting turns of events, their relationship developed a profound meaning and led to the Soul Garden project.

It began when James was asked to consider setting up a desert tour; He had been living in Douz, a small town nicknamed "the gate to the Sahara" and became good friends with a local tour guide there. Discussing the opportunity with Bettina, both quickly began to discuss what they both wanted out of an event, and the Soul Garden began to take shape this way.

After returning to Holland, Bettina invited James for the summer where they entered deep philosophical discussions about life

and so the groundwork for the project took on a lot of energy. Six months later, James moved to Colombia and Bettina came to visit, and through various circumstances and opportunities, they officially began the Soul Garden together.

The story is still only beginning; Bettina has travelled and worked in over 45 countries and specializes in communication, breathwork, surfing, travelling and more. James specializes in philosophy and all things filmmaking, lived in 7 countries and loves to learn languages. Together, James and Bettina are passionate about bringing the world a shared vision of human life and providing the environment in which to explore it.
